El Cuarto Player

Este Summer Game Fest se celebró a lo grande, siendo un evento que se transmitio en vivo desde el Dolby Theatre de Los Ángeles, California con grandes personalidades del mundo de los videojuegos como invitados. Aunque los verdaderos invitados de honor fueron los videojuegos que aquí se anunciaron.

Tuvimos grandes revelaciones por doquier; empezando con el anuncio de Resident Evil Veronica (remake de Resident Evil: Code Veronica), se reveló Stellar Blade: Blood Rain (con una nueva protagonista y un nuevo apartado técnico espectacular), se mostró The Wolf Among Us 2 (que vino junto el anuncio de The Wolf Among Us Remaster) y tuvimos el regreso Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin (juego que pensábamos perdido en el limbo pero que llegará de la mano de Paramount Games y Platinum Games)

Sega estuvo muy participativa en este evento mostrándonos cosas como Alien: Isolation 2, Sonic Pico Park, su nuevo DLC para Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (con todo y Evangelion y Godzilla incluido), así como la revelación de Virtua Fighter Crossroads (que incluirá un fuerte enfoque narrativo gracias al toque de RGG Studio).

También tuvimos un comunicado especial por parte de Studio MDHR, quienes no solo confirmaron que tenían bajo desarollo una secuela de Cuphead (de la que no se tiene nada que mostrar aún), sino también nos anunciaron Mighty Cuphead Adventure (spinoff de la serie principal con gráficos retro que tendrá su salida en un cartucho de Sega Master System y en plataformas actuales).

Otros títulos interesantes mostrados durante este evento fueron 1666 Amsterdam (del creador de Assassin’s Creed), gen ATLAS (traído por Fumito Ueda, mente detrás de ICO y Shadow of the Colossus), Gundam Rogue Orbit (con impresionantes batallas de mechas), Hot Wheels Infinite Rush (donde además de competir en carreras tendremos un gran área que explorar) y entre otros Lords of the Fallen 2 (secuela esperada por muchos).

Los fans de Final Fantasy tuvieron motivos para emocionarse; no solo se presentó a Tifa como peleadora invitada para la próxima temporada de Street Fighter 6, sino que también se mostró a detalle lo que nos ofrecerá Final Fantasy VII Revelation (que dicho de paso será multiplataforma de lanzamiento).

A pesar de que no tuvimos entrega de premios, comerciales descarados ni músicos en vivo cortando el show contantemente (como pasa siempre en cada evento The Game Awards de Geoff Keighley), este Summer Game Fest 2026 no dejo de ser algo extenso.
